FOLKESTONE, in kent South east England.Has a very interesting history, being occupied
by early settlers since the stone age. The most famous of historical sites is probably the roman villa
site on the towns east cliff, uncovered in 1924 by S.E.Winbolt..Previously occupied by the celts this
site has a very important part to play in the towns history .By the amount of Celtic and Roman material
found around this site it suggests to us that this was a very large community and important trading
area with Northern Europe.
